Selling a House As-Is in Biloxi, MS When Major Repairs Are Needed
Selling a house that needs extensive repairs can be difficult, especially when the property has structural concerns and damaged areas throughout the home. In this video, Jon Lester with Home Buyer Mississippi walks through an older house in Biloxi that is in some of the worst condition he has encountered recently. For homeowners facing a similar situation, learning how to sell a house as-is can provide an alternative to completing extensive repairs before selling.
The house dates back to the 1930s or 1940s and is located near the Keys Sur Bay area in Biloxi. The floors are missing in several spots, the house appears to have settled or bowed in the middle, and Jon says the property needs essentially everything. Home Buyer Mississippi is evaluating the numbers to determine whether they can take on the project and restore the older home.
You can watch the video to see the property and hear more about the situation, or read the video transcript below.

What’s up, everybody? It’s Jon Lester, with Home Buyer Mississippi. I’m in another house. This one’s in Biloxi. You can even tell on camera there’s a bow in the middle of the countertop because there’s a bow in the middle of the house. It’s curved from where it has kind of fallen down in itself.
This is another one an agent brought to us. The floors are gone in a couple of spots. You can see right through this thing. Actually, this is one of the worst-condition ones I’ve walked in a while.
It is a 1930s or 1940s house right here in Biloxi by the Keys Sur Bay. So it’s one of those military neighborhoods from the ’40s. This one has just not had a good time. You can see it all the way throughout.
It’s cool because it’s old, it’s worth saving, and we’re going to try to put it back together. We’re just working through the numbers now. It needs literally everything, but that’s fine because it’s cute, historic, and a fun project, so it’s going to be a good one.
Just walking on pins and needles a bit, walking through here and checking stuff out. No project is too big. I’d say no project is too big, no project is too small.
We do like ones like this. If you have a house in this condition, or if you are working with a client that has a house in this condition, any condition here on the Mississippi coast, check us out. We would love to talk to you about it.
