Renovating a 1945 Home we bought in Long Beach, Mississippi

We recently wrapped up a renovation project on a 1945 home in Long Beach, Mississippi, and this one is a great example of the type of opportunities we’re seeing across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Older homes like this often have strong fundamentals but need updates to meet today’s standards. With the right approach, they can be transformed into clean, livable properties for new homeowners.

This particular project took a couple of months to complete, and we’re now down to the final touches before it’s ready for the market.

You can watch the video to see the property and hear more about the situation, or read the video transcript below.

Hey, what’s up everybody? It’s Jon Lester here with Home Buyer Mississippi. I am in a nearly completed, not quite, but nearly completed renovation project here in Long Beach, Mississippi. As you can see, there’s still a little work stuff cluttered around. The appliances are getting delivered tomorrow, but everything else is pretty much ready to go.

Hardwood floors, wood ceilings, really cute two bed, one bath house here. 1945 construction. You couldn’t ask for a sweeter house, honestly.

I’ve been working on this one for a couple months. It is just about ready. Putting the finishing touches on over the next day or two and then we are going to be done and looking for the next one.

I’m really happy to be done with this one. Super excited, but definitely ready for the next one.

If you are watching this and you have a house that looks like this that you want to sell, or really any condition at all, give us a shout at homebuyermississippi.com. Fill out the form for a free cash offer and we will reach out to you and hopefully be able to help you out and get a new project.

Anyway, hope to talk to you soon. Have a good day. Thanks.

Why We Like Projects Like This in Long Beach, MS

Long Beach is one of the more attractive markets on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for renovation projects. You’ve got a mix of older homes, strong rental demand, and continued interest from buyers looking for affordable coastal living.

Properties like this 1945 home often come with deferred maintenance or outdated finishes, but they also present an opportunity to create real value through renovation.

For sellers, these types of houses can be difficult to list traditionally, especially if repairs are needed. That’s where working with a direct buyer can make more sense.
